Bush Charged with Murder One in Congressional Hearing

Vincent Bugliosi's opening statements during the House Judiciary Committee hearing on the constitutional limits of executive power.

He argues that since Bush took the country to war against Iraq on false pretenses and that therefore he is guilty of tens of thousands of counts of murder.

Wow.. that was a very strong testimony and I was delighted to hear the applauds.

That's was I was waiting to hear from America since a long long time. I hope he will be heared and followed.

That said, I've read the transcript of Obama's discourse in Berlin and I was deeply disappointed.

So he played on old stories of the cold war during more than two third of his speech.. but that is just old stories for us in the EU. What our genration and the generation at power now in Germany remembers, it's the Vietnam war and the belligerent and imperialism of the US.
His call to unite for terrorism just sound like propaganda, like the Bush propaganda. What he said concerning the need to unite to fight in Afghanistan and concerning the need to come together and that partnership implies sacrifices.. that may be what the Americans want to hear... but not what the Europeans want to hear : we are not there to pay for the US wars of choice and for your crimes and errors.
The West has nothing to do in Afghanistan. If we leave these countries, the principal motivation of terrorism will vanish.
Obama's speech was a great disappointment. Somehow, I already knew it would be so, I've never had much illusions, but it was worse than I believed it would be.

Another trap for the Dems?

There is nothing new about McCain's theory that US are winning in Iraq. The problem is, now we see something that is supposed to be objective analysis which basically says exactly the same thing. Under close consideration, this does not look good at all.

It does not really matter that this conclusion does match with the actual situation on the ground, it was never intended for this purpose in the first place. What really matters is the way Dems will react to this smart GOP provocation.

Suppose they don't agree. Then GOP accuses them for weakness and defeatism which is good enough for their purposes.

Now suppose that Dems agree with V-theory. Then, to begin with, GOP immediately responds with their generic accusation of flip-flopping because this is an obvious change of the previous Dems' position. But that's just peanuts.

Next, Bush and Cheney get exactly what they want at the end of their second term, they can claim that their Iraqi legacy is perfectly OK.

Most importantly, in this scenario, McCain can say that he has all grounds to go on with his incremental enhancements of the present course. As for Obama, his radical change is going to ruin the hard-won benefits of GOP effort.

Then, even if Obama will be able to prevail in November, he will need to deal with the obligation to go on winning in Iraq which clearly follows from V-theory. Then all negative consequences of troop reductions, which are completely possible, are all his to handle! This way, he has all chances to become a lame-duck President as soon as in 2010, if not sooner.

There is little doubt that Clintons would be more than happy to get straight into this V-trap, and then, as usual, blame some abstract right-wing conspiracy for the consequences. The question is, what will Dems actually do at this point.

I was (also) delighted to hear that the Charles Manson prosecutor had charged "the Bush Administration" in this case --- LONG overdue; however Vincent Bugliosi will probably join JFK, MLK, RFK, et al. because he DARED to tell the truth.

Washington DC is a CESSPOOL - There are more criminals in the nation's capital than have EVER graced the gates of Alcatraz. If the people in this country had any brains, we'd have taken them all out in FROG-MARCHES decades ago, and shot them ALL on the White House lawn - just like they did to the kids at Kent State and Jackson State during the Vietnam War, or at Waco and Ruby Ridge.

Read the book the government BANNED in 1977:

Read a good book about the days that sealed America's fate:

What are the Europeans good for? Good for nothing! Yak, yak, yak- that's about all Europe- especially old Europe can do. Never mind that America spent the blood of 300,000-400,000 American soldiers to free Europe from the mad men of great Europe's own creation. Now, on some weird basis, Europeans can pontificate on who should be free and who should not.

The moment you lily-livered poltroons and sissies- led for the most part by feckless politicians- can defend your own borders then perhaps America can take advice from you. Till then, America can do without your advice.
