Juan, I have been following the graph that the BBC has on-line called 'Monitoring the Surge'. This is posted each week contiguously and shows very high civilian deaths, relatively low US deaths and often Iraqi police at the lowest point, although of course it varies each week. How accurate are these numbers in your judgment?
The Yazidi's are caught in the middle, between Kudish officials that want their votes, and Sunni's that want their land.
And if I ever manage to get this topic addressed without it turning into a dissertation on middle-eastern religions...I'll come back with a link. It is, however quite a struggle to resist getting lost in detail. (Islamic teachings, melded with Zoroastrianism, and tempered with ancient Aryan Vedic rituals presents a ripe topic.)
