Napoleon's Egypt and the Page 99 Test

Marshal Zeringue's Page 99 Test highlights my new book, Napoleon's Egypt: Invading the Middle East.

This book blog is premised on Ford Maddox Ford's bon mot, "Open the book to page ninety-nine and read, and the quality of the whole will be revealed to you."

Also, at the Napoleon's Egypt Blog, Bourrienne's account of the taking of the port of Alexandria.

The photo you included in this post reminded me of the beautiful facsimiles of Description De L'Egypte produced by Oppenheimer Editions (http://www.oppenheimereditions.com/01_amenu_egy.asp)

I saw the reproductions in their gallery in Chicago and found the images to be strikingly beautiful. I acquired one for my home.

I'm keen to read your book and learn more about the history and be able to put more context behind the images.
